With the very last of this season’s Victorian apples from Pepper Paddocks Produce in Hastings, we couldn’t help but give them a proper send off with a celebratory recipe. Enter Viennese Apfelstudel. Hand-making this gorgeous pastry seems terribly complicated on paper, but is nowhere near as tricky as you may think (if you’re happy with a somewhat rustic result as we are).
This recipe came to us from a participant of Sustain x Melbourne Food Hub’s Seniors’ community cooking program, Food in Common which has helped keep older Australians connected online through food and gardening during COVID. Check out George’s video below to see how it’s made or read the fabulous recipe from LilVienna here.
Don’t forget to show us what’s cooking in your kitchen @melb_food_hub.
This program is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Arcare Family Foundation.
